At approximately 15,300 feet, the mountain climate became part of the photograph. Cold slowed the instant chemistry, shifted colour toward blue and left the conditions of creation inside the object itself.

Why ZINE preserved it

What first appeared to be a technical failure became physical evidence. The image does not merely depict the cold: the cold exists inside the object. No later print can be represented by ZINE as equivalent to this particular sheet of instant film.
